    SPECIE NAME:Pterygoplichtys gibbiceps

    COMMON NAME OF THE SPECIE: Sailfin/Leopard Plecostomus

    LOCATION: Amazon River Basin of Brazil and Peru,

    HABITAT: fresh water rivers & streams

    SIZE: upto 50 cm

    DIET: Will take most vegetarian foods including algae wafers and blanched vegetables, will eat soft brown algae

    FACT: The Leopard sailfin pleco have one pair of barbells on each side of the mouth. The barbells are not very big. The pectoral fins are big and almost reach the middle pelvic fins. The dorsal fin is really big, and this is why this fish is called sailfin.

    SPECIE NAME:Hypostomus plecostomus

    COMMON NAME OF THE SPECIE: sucker mouth catfish

    LOCATION: This species' native range is tropical northeastern South America; it naturally occurs in northeastern Brazil, the Guianas, and Trinidad and Tobago.

    HABITAT: Plecos are adaptable fish that can live in fresh or brackish water.

    SIZE: upto 50 cm

    DIET: They are actually omnivores, and eat plant material, algae, insects and small crustaceans in the wild.

    FACT: Plecos are well-known algae eaters that originated in the rivers of the Amazon jungle in South America. Plecos attach themselves to hard surfaces with specially adapted mouth parts. They are scavengers and will eat almost anything. Recommended for beginning aquarists.
