Summer Science Outreach Programme 2020
20th April to 10th June 2020
Gujarat Science City, working under the aegis of the
Department of Science & Technology, Government of Gujarat, will be
organizing hands-on activities and workshops for the school and college students
during the upcoming summer vacation to beat the heat. The programme has been
designed as Hands-on Science Camp.
Gujarat Science City organizes various innovative
activities and workshops for school and college students during this summer
vacation.
School and college students may explore science and have
an experience that they will never forget. The hands-on activities at Gujarat
Science City offer science-rich, fun-filled experiences for children in
pre-school through 12th grade.
The programme gives school and college students the
opportunity to explore science and have a memorable experience. The hands-on
activities at Gujarat Science City offer science-rich, fun-filled experiences
for students from pre-school to 12th grade and college.
Participating students explore basic science like
physics, chemistry, biology, space and the earth in diverse classes that take
advantage of the Science City’s unique, state-of-the-art resources. There are 33
hands-on workshop and activities including Robotics, 3D Printing Technology,
Internet of Things Technology with Home Automation, Electronics Circuit Making,
Wonders of Chemistry, Explore Botany, Life Cycle of Butterfly, Telescope Making,
Math Magic captivating the students.
The mentioned all activities will take place in Science City campus at various pavilions with intent to learn of science and its applications.
Students of different age groups will learn science in a modern environment that includes large-scale experiment platforms and equipments designed for maximum hands-on investigation. Moreover, these activities also include field trip, nature trail, screening of films, and extempore talk among others.
The above activities include
several key elements:
- Fun:Science City realises scorching heat limiting movements of children and designs appropriate activities for children of different age-groups enabling them to enjoy their science experience in the sprawling campus.
- Science:Science City use science as a means of learning about the world around your child. It has a unique approach to learning, emphasizes critical thinking through creative problem solving.
- Tools:All activities have been planned as hands-on and minds-on. Children may use everything from microscopes to digital cameras to dip nets for collecting insects. They are active participants in the process of learning.
- Exercise:Summer is not about ‘sitting in one place all day’. We make sure our programs have a chance to ‘mix it up’ – whether it’s an outdoor game in Energy Park or through an afternoon discussion in Children Activity Centre.
The lists of scientific activities along with the time schedule for the above vacation programme have been prepared and enclosed herewith for reference. The proposed activities may be conducted from 11.00 am to 04.00 pm starting from 20th April to 10th June 2020 including every Saturday and Sunday.
