LOCATION : This species occurs off the American continents only. In the western Atlantic Ocean it has been reported from southern Brazil to North Carolina, USA, and occasionally as far north as Rhode Island. It is also common in the Gulf of Mexico and much of the Caribbean. In the eastern Pacific Ocean it is reported from southern California to Ecuador.

HABITAT: The Bonnethead Shark is an abundant, small coastal shark commonly found in shallow estuaries and bays over seagrass, mud and sandy bottoms at depths ranging from 10-80 m.

LOCATION : It occurs throughout the Indo-Pacific region from the Red Sea to Algoa Bay and eastward to the Hawaiian and Pitcairn Islands throughout Micronesia. In the western Pacific, it ranges northwards to southern Japan and southwards to Australia.

HABITAT: It occurs all along tropical and temperate coasts, rarely straying into cool temperate waters. E. lanceolatus is the largest of all coral reef dwelling bony fishes. It tends to be solitary and inhabits lagoon and seaward reefs at a depth of a few to at least 50m.

LOCATION : It is widely distributed within the Indo-West Pacific in tropical and warm-temperate waters occurring in a variety of habitats throughout its range. It is known from India, Southeast Asia, Japan, southern New Guinea and northern Australia.

HABITAT: The Grey Carpetshark is found in a variety of habitats including nearshore intertidal and subtidal habitats, over sandy and muddy substrates, seagrass beds and rocky and coral reef habitat to depths of 85 m.

HABITAT: This reef-associated species occurs in the vicinity of coral or rocky reefs (Anderson 1986), often over adjacent sand flats and gravel patches.
