    SPECIE NAME:Rhinoptera bonasus

    COMMON NAME OF THE SPECIE: Cownose Ray

    LOCATION: Cownose rays appear naturally in the Eastern Atlantic Ocean, the Western Atlantic Ocean. Within the Eastern Atlantic Ocean, the cownose ray can often be found in Mauritania, Senegal, and Guinea. In the Western Atlantic Ocean they are located from Southern New England to Northern Florida in the United States, as well as throughout the Gulf of Mexico, Trinidad, Venezuela, and Brazil.

    HABITAT: They live in brackish and marine habitats and can be found at depth up to 22 meters. They are gregarious and migrate extremely long distances, often traveling in schools.

    SIZE: Upto 210 cm Upto 5 KG

    DIET: The cownose ray feeds upon clams, oysters, hard clams and other invertebrates.

    FACT: When the rays are swimming near the surface, the tips of the wings sometimes stick out of the water, resembling a shark's dorsal fin.

    SPECIE NAME:Brevitrygon imbricata

    COMMON NAME OF THE SPECIE: Scaly Whipray

    LOCATION: Scaly whipray are found in the Indo-West Pacific oceans from the Red Sea and Mauritius to Indonesia.

    HABITAT: The scaly whipray is found in inshore coastal waters, typically in estuarine habitats.

    SIZE: Upto 65 cm Upto 10 KG

    DIET: Scaly whipray feed on benth crust, mollusks, crabs, gastropods, other invertibrates

    FACT: The disc width of the scaly whipray is equal to its disc length, and the tail is shorter than the body. The ventral surface of the disc is entirely white.

    SPECIE NAME:Maculabatis gerrardi

    COMMON NAME OF THE SPECIE: Whitespotted Whipray

    LOCATION: Widespread in the eastern Indian Ocean and Western Pacific

    HABITAT: . This species is demersal, found on the inner continental shelf, from inshore waters to depths of at least 60 m. It appears to occur more frequently in shallow trawls (20-33 m depth) in warmer months on the Tugela Bank, Natal, South Africa.

    SIZE: Upto 200 cm

    DIET: Whitespotted whipray feeds upon Benthos,including small lobsters, shrimps and crabs

    FACT: Important food fish, the skin and flesh are dried or used to produce leather for purses and bags.

    SPECIE NAME:Neotrygon kuhlii

    COMMON NAME OF THE SPECIE: Masked Bluespotted Ray

    LOCATION: The Blue-spotted Maskray is common on tropical reefs across the north of Australia and throughout Asia.

    HABITAT: It can be found on shallow reef tops down to depths of 90 meters.

    SIZE: Upto 70 cm Upto 3 KG

    DIET: The bluespotted stingray feeds on shrimp, small bony fish, mollusks, crabs and other worms. Due to the fact that this ray is a shallow bottom feeder, it has a small variety of marine life to prey on.

    FACT: The mouth is located on the ventral side of the body, which promotes the unique foraging technique of stingrays.

    SPECIE NAME:Rhinobatos rhinobatos

    COMMON NAME OF THE SPECIE: Common guitarfish

    LOCATION: The common guitarfish is found in the Eastern North Atlantic Ocean. Its range extends from the southern end of the Bay of Biscay to Angola, including the Mediterranean Sea.

    HABITAT: It cruises slowly around just above the seabed, sometimes resting on the sand or mud and semi-covering itself with sediment.

    SIZE: Upto 147 cm Upto 40 KG

    DIET: Common guitarfish feed primarily on Benthic invertabrate, Mainly on crustaceans and small fishes.

    FACT: Its lifestyle makes it vulnerable to trawling and other fishing methods, populations seem to be declining and it has disappeared from parts of its range.

    SPECIE NAME:Mugil

    COMMON NAME OF THE SPECIE: Mullet

    LOCATION: Found World wide in tropical & temperet costal marine quarters but also entering in to Estuaries & rivers

    HABITAT: The flathead mullet is cosmopolitan in coastal waters of the tropical, subtropical and temperate zones of all seas. It occupies fresh, brackish and marine habitats

    SIZE: upto 100 cm Upto 8 KG

    DIET: The diet of adult flathead grey mullet consists of microalgae (epiphytic and benthic), plant detritus, inorganic sediment particles, and benthic animal to a lesser extent. There is nevertheless a wide variability in the diet according to the season and the location. Juvenile can also feed on the “marine snow”, which often occurs in estuaries and near-shore waters.

    FACT: The species is euryhaline, meaning that the fish can acclimate to different levels of salinity

    SPECIE NAME:Johnius amblycephalus

    COMMON NAME OF THE SPECIE: Drumfish

    LOCATION: east of Pakistan through the coastal waters of the Indian Ocean and the Indo-Australian Archipelago to the Philippines, New Guinea and to the Repulse Bay, Queensland; through the South China Sea to Hainan, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Kwangtung. Found in shallow coastal waters and estuaries

    HABITAT: found in shallow costal waters & Estuaries

    SIZE: Upto 25 cm Upto 6.8 KG

    DIET: Feeds on small fishes and invertebrates.

    FACT: Freshwater drum are long-lived and have attained maximum ages of 72 years old in Red Lakes.
