    SPECIE NAME:Boulengerochromis microlepis

    COMMON NAME OF THE SPECIE: Giant Cichlid

    LOCATION: The giant cichlid is endemic to Lake Tanganyika where it occurs in the countries of Burundi, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Tanzania, and Zambia.

    HABITAT: It is common and found in coastal areas to depths of 100 m (330 ft).

    SIZE: UPTO 80 cms UPTO 4.5 kg

    DIET: Juvenile specimens are omnivorous but become increasingly piscivorous as they grow. Most captive specimens will accept dried foods but are better offered live or frozen bloodworm, Tubifex, Artemia, chopped prawns, small earthworms and similar. Adults are mainly piscivorous and juveniles are omnivores.
