Known only from Lake Malombe, Lake Malawi and the Upper Shire River. This river drains into Lake Malawi.Inhabits many zones throughout the lake. It’s most often seen around the shores but is also known to hunt in completely open waters.

DIET:
It’s a pursuit predator, and in nature feeds on smaller fish such as juvenile Copadichromis species. Offer a varied, meaty menu consisting of prawn, mussel, cockle, lancefish etc. Dried foods are also accepted but should not form the main part of the diet.
FACT:
The Spilo is a very difficult fish to collect owing to its predominantly solitary lifestyle.

DIET:
Piscivorous by nature but adapts well to prepared foods in captivity. Offer a varied diet using a good quality cichlid pellet as staple, along with lots of meaty fare such as prawns, mussels, earthworms etc.
FACT:
Also known as the green lepturus, this is a stunning species when mature. Its pelagic nature makes it difficult to catch and can be quite expensive when available.

DIET:
The Electric Blue Hap is carnivorous In the wild they prey primarily on the fry of other cichlids. In the aquarium they will eat any fish small enough to be consumed. They should be fed a quality cichlid pellet, occasionally supplemented with frozen krill, mysis or brine shrimp.
Fry can be fed crushed flake and crushed protein pellets.
