SPECIE NAME:Dascyllus aruanus
COMMON NAME OF THE SPECIE: Three-stripe Damselfish / Humbug Damselfish
LOCATION: Indo-Pacific region, from the Red Sea and East Africa through the Indian Ocean to Southeast Asia, northern Australia and the central Pacific.
HABITAT: Marine, reef-associated; commonly found in shallow coral reefs, lagoons and reef flats, especially around branching corals such as Acropora.
SIZE: Usually around 7–8 cm; maximum recorded length is approximately 10 cm TL. A reliable species-specific weight range is not commonly reported.
DIET: Omnivorous; feeds on zooplankton and small crustaceans, while also consuming algae and other organic material.
FACT: It is easily recognized by its three broad black vertical bands on a white body. It often lives in small groups around branching corals.
