FACT: The name “triangularis” refers to its characteristic triangular or triangular-like markings. It is also known as the Batik Loach.

FACT: The Zipper Loach is a slender, beautifully patterned river loach and can rapidly bury itself in sand and gravel.

DIET: Omnivorous; feeds on algae and biofilm as well as small food items.

FACT: It is adapted to fast water and can defend feeding territories or areas around potential breeding sites.

COMMON NAME OF THE SPECIE: Gold Ring Butterfly Sucker / Tiger Hillstream Loach / Reticulated Hillstream Loach

LOCATION: Central Vietnam, especially clear hill streams and tributaries.

HABITAT: Shallow, fast-flowing, highly oxygenated headwaters and tributaries with riffles, runs, rocks and cascades.

SIZE: Size: Approximately 6–7 cm maximum.

DIET: Mainly an algae and biofilm grazer, with small aquatic organisms taken opportunistically.

FACT: Its flattened body and broad fins help it attach firmly to rocks and survive strong currents.
